What to do on a Wednesday night, your lovely adult son wants to catch up for dinner but no time to shop or cook...head to the village and meet up at Zachary’s Gourmet Pizza and Wine Bar. You will be greeted by the lovely Ange (affectionately known as Pocahontas by locals for obvious reasons when you meet her) and her very capable team. We started with an Italian Pinot Grigio (think pears..) for me and a couple of “Super Dry’s” for the boys (I recently ordered a couple of “Super Blondes” quite clearly just mixing up my brand names and am still to live it down!) Then on to what to eat...well partner and I being regulars, we can say “just the regular” which is a classic spicy Italian pizza to which we add prosciutto, anchovies and extra extra chilli, mmmmm. Youngest son not so keen on spicy and less of a traditionalist enjoyed the “Posh Chicken” a combo of yes chicken, with avocado and camembert. Sorry Thomas (son’s loyal black Labrador waiting patiently) there was but a skerrick left. Zac’s also offers a good range of pasta and salad options as well as Sunday breakfast. Anyway if you want good food, great value, a fine selection of drinks, a relaxed friendly vibe accompanied by cooling sea breezes and the rhythmic sound of the ocean across the park, give Zac’s a try, I think you may become a regular too.
